The EXPLORE test 2010 was held on 29th May
Many gifted children don't have the chance to really stretch their wings in primary school. Taking an above level test can help identify strengths that might not be seen in the regular classroom. By raising the ceiling, students, parents and teachers can all gain valuable insight into a child's capabilities.
The Explore test is just such an opportunity and it will be available to families in Western Australia in May this year.
EXPLORE is designed for US students in the 8th Grade (13 or 14 years of age). Thousands of younger students sit this test each year as a Talent Search opportunity in the USA. In 2010 it will again be available to students in WA who are currently in Year 4, 5 or 6.
Students who took the EXPLORE exam last year are encouraged to take it again in 2010 as it provides an indication of progress over the last 12 months.
This year we are able to
offer the test to as many as 125 students at a number of
test centres in order to keep travel time to a minimum for as many people as
possible.
To date test sites have
been confirmed south of the river at Wesley College, north of the river
at John XXIII College and at the District Education Office in
Northam, at Great Southern Grammar School in Albany and at
Geraldton Grammar School in Geraldton.
To register follow the link
below. Registration involves 3 stages which must all be completed to secure
your child's place. Payment is by cheque (sorry no credit card payments for
EXPLORE).
(Please contact me if paying by cheque is a problem for you)
Testing next year is scheduled for 9 April 2011.
