LEARNING STYLES
Everyone learns in a different way. Teachers teach in differnt ways, but generally in their own preferred learning style. This can and does provide a challenge if a child's preference isnt a match for the teacher's. Understanding your own, or your child's unique way of interacting with the world is a valuable exercise and will allow you to advocate at school and fine tune at home.

Dunn and Dunn Learning Styles
Learning styles are an individual's unique approach to learning based on strengths and preferences. KNowing your preferences you can set up your learning environment to help you learn faster and more efficiently. This site offers an online assessment with a personalised report and looks at not only modality (visual, auditory, kinesthetic etc) but also preferred time of day, temperature, lighting, seating, individual or small group preferences and whether you learn globally or analytically.
Online assessments for children from 7 years upwards, cost is US$5 each.
